TasCAHRD provides support, trusted information, education and community connection across HIV, hepatitis, sexual health and harm reduction. Whether you’re looking for support, training, outreach or ways to stay connected, our services are here to help without judgement or stigma.

Education

TasCAHRD provide practical education on blood borne viruses (BBVs) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), how transmission happens, how to prevent it, and how to access testing and treatment without stigma or judgement.

We work with:

  • schools, colleges, and training providers
  • community groups and organisations
  • anyone wanting to build their understanding of STIs and BBVs

Free safer sex packs

Free safer sex packs delivered to your doorstep. Safer sex packs include 10 free condoms and sachets of lubes.

Support

Confidential, person-centred support to help you live well. We provide practical assistance, trusted information, and advocacy, so you don’t have to navigate things alone.

  • People at risk of HIV or other BBVs  
  • Partners, families, and support people

One-on-one support with case management, care coordination, referrals and navigating services.

Media

TasCAHRD operates Red thread studios, a creative media outlet. Alongside digital and social media, we publish a quarterly lifestyle magazine, regular podcast and run a recording studio.

Hobart NSP

We provide the primary Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) for Hobart. The NSP is a harm reduction initiative that reduces the risks from injecting drug use, such as blood borne viruses and STI transmission. It is a statewide program that offers sterile injecting equipment, advice, support and referrals to services and healthcare.
