What is HIV?
HIV affects your immune system, weakening your body’s defences.
HIV can be transmitted via blood, semen, vaginal fluid and breastmilk.
If treated properly, the viral load can be reduced low enough to be not detectable.
HIV is unlikely to be transmitted, when viral load is not detectable.
If left untreated, HIV can result in AIDS – Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome – which means you are more vulnerable to other illnesses
